Angel Low is the General Manager of Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia (ASEM), a groundbreaking initiative co-created by The Hive Southeast Asia, a recipient of the Dana Penjana Nasional Program, and the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC). AI Nusantara is dedicated to addressing the shortage of digital talents and bridging the gap between skills and job requirements. At AI Nusantara, Angel oversees key functions including:
● Spearheading AI Nusantara as a dynamic platform R&D lab, focused on incubating and accelerating AI projects for technological innovation.
● Collaborating with top AI technology partners regionally and thought leaders to provide robust support and pioneering solutions.
● Leading talent development efforts, with a specialisation in AI training for engineers and management.

Prior to her role at AI Nusantara, Angel served as a principal at The Hive Southeast Asia, a $50MM fund dedicated to Seed stage technology companies in Malaysia, backed by the Ministry of Finance (PENJANA Kapital) Malaysia and conglomerates such as Boustead Holdings and Segi Holdings. Angel's role also encompasses various strategic responsibilities, including fundraising from High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and Institutional Funds, managing Limited Partners (LP), business development (BD), portfolio value addition and hosting one of the largest summits in Kuala Lumpur, The Hive SEA Summit 2023..
Before joining The Hive Southeast Asia, Angel gained extensive experience in the finance industry, having worked in a fund under MAVCAP and a Private Equity firm based in China, where she focused on consumer, TMT, and healthcare sectors. During her time in China, Angel played a pivotal role in developing opportunities for overseas Chinese enterprises, contributing to initiatives such as the Belt & Road initiative. Her expertise also includes due diligence and investment committee processes for hyper-growth companies like Luckin Coffee and Hipac.cn.
With a diverse background spanning technology, finance, and venture capital, Angel Low is a staunch advocate for a more inclusive venture capital industry, aiming to create opportunities for underrepresented founders. Her leadership at AI Nusantara underscores her commitment to driving innovation and addressing critical challenges in the digital landscape.

AI Nusantara is a co-creation between The Hive Southeast Asia - a recipient of Dana Penjana Nasional Program and Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) to work backwards with industry partners to solve shortage of digital talents mainly and mismatch between skills/jobs. AI Nusantara’s key functions are:-
● AIN serves as a dynamic platform R&D lab, dedicated to incubating and accelerating AI projects for technological innovation
● We collaborate with top AI technology partners regionally and thought leaders to provide robust support and pioneering solutions.
● Fostering talent development, AIN specialises in AI training for engineers & management.
The Hive Southeast Asia is a recipient of Dana Penjana Nasional ("DPN") to co-create, launch, and fund early-stage startups predominantly in Malaysia based on specific themes focusing on applications and use cases in corporate functional areas.
